Eco Homes & Sustainability

Building responsibly for the future

Sustainability is central to how we build, not an add-on. Our approach focuses on long-term performance, reduced energy use and homes that genuinely cost less to run, using construction methods and systems that are designed to last.

Building differently today

Building for the next 100 years means building differently today. We focus on sustainability that actually works. Our homes are built using an insulated concrete formwork (ICF) system manufactured in Bude from 93% recycled plastics, creating a strong, high-performance structure that keeps heat in, reduces noise and lasts far longer than typical construction. The system carries a the maximum 50-year BBA certificate and independent testing shows expected lifespans well beyond 150 years. For comparison, many timber-frame systems are certified for around 25 years, which is one of the reasons we don’t believe they offer a truly long-term, sustainable solution.

Focusing on real performance

Around 80% of a home’s total carbon footprint comes from the energy it uses during everyday living, not from construction. That’s why we prioritise measures that deliver real, lasting performance: excellent insulation, airtight construction, MVHR, air source heating and a fabric-first approach that keeps running costs low. We avoid token measures — for example, adding a single solar panel simply because it looks “green”. If a feature doesn’t meaningfully improve the home, we don’t do it.

Building without fossil fuels

We also made a clear decision to build without fossil fuels, well before regulations required it. Choosing not to install gas was about creating future-proof, low-carbon homes that offer consistent comfort and reliability.

Long-term impact, not short-term gains

Our aim is simple: build homes that perform exceptionally well, cost less to run, last far longer than standard methods, and genuinely reduce carbon over their lifetime — not just at the point of build and not just for marketing.

Recognised for sustainable development

This approach has been recognised internationally. Our developments have won at the IPA International Property Awards, including Best Residential Development (20+ units) and Best Sustainable Residential Development, reflecting both the quality of our construction and the integrity of our sustainability approach.
